Beach

The soft earth below me is firm but gives way,

Showing my footprints as I walk each day.

Slowly and carefully I creep on the sand,

Avoiding each rock on my way back to land.

The waves and red sky lay before me,

Enjoying each moment is the key.

The calming breeze streams through my hair,

Wiping away my every care.

The setting sun is a dimming ember,

This place is public, no special members.

The ocean waves crashing, so strong and slow,

As I look down and see the different shells, below.

Small specks of sand dance around me,

This is peaceful and quiet, unlike the city.

My way to relax is this,

I am in my bliss.

I’m standing here, watching the night unfold,

The only sun left is a sliver of gold.

The day has come to an end,

I smile, reflecting, as I turn the bend.
